Passport validity

Your passport must remain valid for at least six months beyond your planned date of departure from Bhutan.
International flight ticket

Book your flights in advance and, whenever possible, avoid transiting through conflict-affected regions.

Bhutanese Visa

Bring your Bhutanese visa with you during your trip

Other Visa

Bring any other visas required for your journey (in addition to your Bhutanese visa).

Passengers connecting through countries (such as India for instance) need to clear immigration and re-check their luggage, which require a visa even for a short stopover.

Applying for any necessary visas for these other countries is your own responsibility.
Insurance

Travel insurance is not anymore mandatory for visiting Bhutan since April 23, 2024.

We recommend, however, that you take out international travel insurance, covering situations such as trip cancellation, emergency medical expenses, evacuation, and personal liability.
Vaccinations

No vaccines are currently required to enter Bhutan.

However, it is advisable to make sure your routine vaccinations are up to date before you travel.
