How to reach Bhutan
Arrival by air
-
You can arrive by air via Paro International Airport, Bhutan’s only international gateway, surrounded by mountains.
-
Currently, only two airlines operate flights to Paro:
Drukair and Bhutan Airlines. -
Flights connect Bhutan to several regional hubs including Bangkok, New Delhi, Kathmandu, Singapore, and Dhaka, with additional routes depending on the season.
-
Soha Voyage can assist you with booking your flights to Paro and ensure a smooth and seamless journey.
Arrival by land
-
It is also possible to enter Bhutan by land through India. There are two main border crossings:
-
Phuentsholing in the southwest, which is the most commonly used and easily accessible from West Bengal (near Siliguri and Bagdogra Airport),
-
and Samdrup Jongkhar in the southeast, which connects to the Indian state of Assam.
-
This option can be particularly interesting for travelers already exploring nearby regions of India.
Future access – Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC)
-
Bhutan is currently developing the Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC), an ambitious project in the southern region of the country.
-
As part of this development, a future international airport is planned, which will further enhance access to Bhutan.
