- The best SEASONS -

Bhutan can be visited year-round, as each season offers a unique experience.

With climate change, however, seasonal patterns have become less predictable.

Autumn
(September-November)

  • Autumn is widely considered one of the best times to visit Bhutan.

  • The skies are generally clear, offering spectacular mountain views and ideal conditions for trekking.

  • This season also features many important Buddhist festivals (tsechus), which attract both locals and visitors.

  • As a result, it is one of the busiest times of the year for tourism.

Spring
(March - May)

  • Spring is another wonderful season to visit, with mild temperatures, neither too hot nor too cold.

  • The landscapes come alive with blooming flowers, especially rhododendrons.

  • It’s an excellent time for both hiking and cultural exploration.

Winter
(December - February)

  • Winter is generally dry, with sunny days and crisp, fresh air.

  • It is well suited for cultural visits and shorter hikes.

  • Depending on the altitude, some areas may experience snowfall, especially in higher regions, adding a serene and magical atmosphere to the landscapes.

Summer
(July - August)

  • Mid-summer is the monsoon season. Rain typically falls every day, but mainly during the night.

  • This can make hiking more challenging due to muddy trails and limited visibility.

  • However, the countryside becomes incredibly lush and vibrant, making it a beautiful time for cultural travel and photography.
